Hard One, Not Done

A commemoration of the 100-Year Anniversary of the Ratification of the 19th Amendment from an Iowa Perspective

CENTURY OF IMPACT: A CENTENNIAL HISTORY OF THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS OF IOWA

Century of Impact by Iowa Leagues, a book by Linda Meloy of Iowa City (Johnson County League), highlights the legislation that the League alone (or in collaboration with other organizations) was successful in getting passed across the last 100 years, based on their positions on children and families, education, the environment, good government, human rights, and voting rights. Since the League is a three-level organization (national, state and local) the study and action of local Iowa Leagues will also be shared. It will be available starting March of 2020 and free for all Iowa high school social studies departments and 543 public libraries.
