Hard One, Not Done

A commemoration of the 100-Year Anniversary of the Ratification of the 19th Amendment from an Iowa Perspective

Each of the major colleges and universities in Iowa has been invited to participate in the 19th Amendment Centennial Commemoration by hosting speaker series, forums and campus conversations that consider, from multi- disciplinary perspectives, the historical context of the women’s vote and the progression toward current and future roles of women in our democracy. The primary objective of this initiative is to engage college students, and potentially the broader community, in meaningful and productive dialogue that motivates and inspires civic action and involvement. Several post-secondary institutions have already identified speaker series, forums, and events for the 2020 calendar year, which can be found on the Calendar of Events at the bottom of the Home page.

Target Audience: College/University students, faculty, and staff will be the primary target audience. However, some institutions may elect to involve the broader community as audience members or participants in some or all events/offerings.
